Year 11 Castleton Trip

Find out how our year 11 Geographers got on on the annual trip to Castleton

On Friday 12th September, our Year 11 Geographers took part in the Geography Department's annual trip to Castleton.

Despite the poor forecast the weather was fantastic; the rain held off until the coach pulled out of the car park.  At some points during the day there were even a few moans that it was "too hot!"

During the day, our Year 11 students collected data for their Geography Controlled Assessment and completed a range of data collection methods, including: Environmental Quality surveys, Land Use surveys and footpath erosion surveys. Numerous members of the public commented on the excellent behaviour of Middlewich students, and their polite manor when conducting their surveys.

Many students agreed that one highlight of the day was climbing the valley at Cave Dale, although lunch and the "fluff" sold at the American Diner came a close second.  Students even took the opportunity to take "Sheep Selfies," and a good day was had by all.

To follow on from the fantastic day, Year 11 are now well on the way to producing some fantastic pieces of Controlled Assessment.
