History of Kinderton

KINDERTON  lies immediately east of the town of Middlewich.

Kinderton is the historical settling place of the Romans in Middlewich. It is generally believed to be the original settlement of Condate of the Romans; a Roman road, called Kind street now King street, went from it to Manchester, Chester and other larger Roman towns.

'The antient hall of Kinderton stood near the banks of the Dane, at the distance of two fields breadth from the site of the Roman works of (the supposed) Condate, which probably suggested a position for the Norman head of this barony.
