Voluntary Work in Uganda

One of our HI Teaching Assistants, Mrs Johnson, will be heading out to do some voluntary work in Uganda this summer and she is hoping our community may be able to support her.

As some of you will be aware, I will be flying out to Uganda in August with a group of friends from St. John's Church Hartford, St. John's Church, Winsford and Christchurch, Northwich.

Whilst we are there we will be working, on a voluntary basis, in primary schools and getting involved in various activities from DIY in the classrooms, teaching, singing, signing, dancing etc.

 

As you will know, educational resources over there are in extremely short supply and as we have a special luggage allowance, I am looking for donation of items such as:-

 

Stationery (pencils, pens, rulers, erasers, whiteboards and whiteboard pens)

Balloons

Bubbles

Loom bands

Small rubber balls

 

We are not asking for paper due to weight allowance.

 

If we could supply any laminated, educational, colourful posters they would be more than appreciated to brighten up dusty, bare classrooms. More specifically:

Things that may be out of date or a little tired looking, that you are thinking of throwing out this summer, will still be welcome.  If you are able to donate any resources please drop them off at reception.
