Excellence in Learning – Achievement for All

MOON ROCK

Space Week 2016

Students at Middlewich high school held a very important piece of history this week in celebration of national space week. We were very lucky to have examples of moon rock from the Apollo missions of the late 60’s and early 70’s. Students learnt about the landings and held examples from the last three missions including the famous orange soil samples. They also saw and held examples of meteorites which linked very nicely into last weeks European space agency mission to crash land the Rosetta spacecraft onto a comet somewhere between Mars and Jupiter.

At Middlewich we also offer Astronomy GCSE to all Year 10 students and currently have a group of 16 students learning everything to do with space.
