Year 8 Step into Business
Find out which entrepreneurs won the Year 8 enterprise competition
Citizenship day on the 15th September revealed the school to have a whole year group of budding entrepreneurs, as Year 8 spent the day developing a business idea based around their own footwear business. Working in teams of between 7 and 9, over the course of the day pupils took their enterprise from the idea stage right through to a full business launch.
Pupils came up with prototypes, costed their business models, developed eye catching advertising campaigns and prepared slick presentations all in the hope of being the overall winning business on the day.
Deciding a winner was incredibly difficult and Mrs Mansfield and Mr Morgan, the organisers of the day, had to call in re-inforcements in the shape of Mr Wiseman and Mrs Chisolm in order to help with judging. Each house had a team in the final with overall winners being from 8S with a business entitled Komfy Cruisers.
