Middlewich High School

Excellence in Learning – Achievement for All

Open Evening 2014

Our Open Evening was a huge success! Find out more here

On Thursday 25th of September the school held it’s annual Open Evening.   Nearly 200 primary school pupils from the local area visited us for the evening to experience a snapshot of life at Middlewich High School.

As usual, a large army of volunteer students helped staff to run the evening and make sure that all of our guests had a great time.  After a brief presentation by Mr Simpson and some of our students, guests were allowed to visit all curriculum areas of the school.  They were able to set fire to things in Science, dress up as their favourite character in English and even survive an erupting volcano in Geography. As part of the evening the primary pupils also took part in a treasure hunt to try to visit every area of the school in order to win some goodies.  Thanks again to all the staff and students who took part in an exceptional evening.  As you can see from the photograph and quotes below, a good time was had by all.

See below, quotes from parents about our Open Evening:

  • “Love the school since my daughter is here in Yr 11. Did not need the visit as based on past experience, this would've been my first choice, but I only came for the benefit of my son. He loved every minute of tonight.”
  • “A very impressive open evening.  Both children and teachers were friendly, helpful and knowledgeable lovely feel to the school.”
  • “Thank you for a brilliant evening at Middlewich High School.”
  • “Great night really enjoyed it, thank you."
