Catering for the Real World - Hospitality, Catering and Events
The level 1 or 2 qualifications in Hospitality, Catering and events are a new suite of qualifications launched by WJEC. 3 individual qualifications based around Food and Catering. Students will acquire skills and apply knowledge, skills and understanding through purposeful practical and theoretical tasks.
Each qualification will offer candidates the opportunity to develop and extend their skills within Hospitality, Catering and Events in a vocational context.
The course will consist of a wide range of practical activities, developing food preparation and presentation skills. Pupils will plan, prepare and carry out a range of food based events including afternoon teas, 3 course meals, catering for after school events .
The emphasis of the course is very much practical.
Level 1 or 2 Hospitality, Catering and Events (awaiting final accreditation)
Or GCSE Hospitality
A variety of practical based events and tasting by the community.
There will also be an opportunity to complete the Food Hygiene certificate.
