Interim Headteacher - Mrs S Du Plessis
As Interim Headteacher at Middlewich High School (Summer Term 2023) and Director of School Improvement for The Sir John Brunner Foundation, I am delighted by the opportunity to make a strategic and significant contribution to the future growth and success of the school.
Throughout my career, I have been determined and committed in driving school improvement, putting student success and wellbeing at the heart of my decision-making. I am passionate about leading and implementing an inclusive and enriching education whilst developing the expertise of those professionals who educate our students.
In creating a positive and ambitious learning environment, building trusting and respectful relationships, and providing and promoting enriching learning opportunities, I believe we grow a culture of excellence that allows each member of our community to flourish.
Deputy Headteacher - Character & Inclusion - Mrs S Colclough
I have worked in education for over seventeen years. I have a deep-rooted passion that all achieve and know this is possible when students attend and apply themselves. I am dedicated to removing barriers, providing opportunities and ensuring students leave Middlewich High School with the results they deserve. I have a passion for Personal development and believe it is key that we develop character to ensure students can demonstrate behaviours necessary in order to succeed and become the best citizens they can be, for their school and the community. I lead our Access and Inclusion team which comprises Safeguarding, SEN, Attendance, Achievement leads, Educational Support Workers and iValue and Personal development with form tutors.
Deputy Headteacher - Raising Standards (Quality of Education) - Mrs R Povey
I am Mrs Povey and I am our Deputy Headteacher - Raising Standards with responsibility for our Quality of Education agenda. I am passionate about delivering the very best curriculum to all our young people, delivered by our dynamic and committed teachers. I lead our team of Curriculum Leaders who make up our Raising Standards team and I am driven by an excitement about high quality teaching and learning and delivering outcomes for every learner which will enable them to access the very best life chances. In my previous roles, I have worked as an Advanced Skills Teacher, Specialist Leader in Education (SLE) and PIXL and SSAT Associate. I look forward to contributing to the everyday excellence delivered at Middlewich High School.
Assistant Headteacher - Teaching & Learning and CPD - Ms E Grant
I have been in Education for twenty years in Cheshire East and having led on Curriculum development in the last few years, I am newly appointed as the Assistant Headteacher for Teaching and Learning and Professional Development at MHS. My passion is rooted in seeing professionals grow and strengthen their practice because it ultimately brings the very best education and experience that students can have. I am responsible for the continued training and development of Early Career Teachers right through to our very experienced staff; we strive to be research-led practitioners who are forward thinking using the best pedagogy to implement a well-thought out curriculum, which will ensure brilliant outcomes for our students. Coupled with this, I am responsible for Literacy across the school which is a huge factor in students' progress. It has been an absolute pleasure to implement our exciting Tutor Reading Programme with dedicated time and resources, this year.
Assistant Headteacher - Culture & Inclusion - Miss K Holt
I am Miss Holt and I have worked at Middlewich High School for many years. In my role as Assistant Headteacher - Culture & Inclusion, I am committed to giving the children of our local community the opportunity to shine and become the best version of themselves. I lead on Personal Development in form time, enrichment activities, our House system and ensuring every student can make a positive contribution to life here in Middlewich High School and the wider community. I am also a Deputy Safeguarding Lead, working as part of our Safeguarding team to support our vulnerable students. Another role I have is as Achievement Lead for Year 11. Our goal is to support all our students to make the best progress possible and to achieve results which will create many opportunities for them in the future. My final role as a senior leader is as lead for Cared for Children. My subject specialism is Geography and working with our students in the classroom (and beyond) is both a pleasure and an honour.
